HDL-c direct FS and LDL-c direct FS

DiaSys has recently extended its cardiovascular risk assessment portfolio by two innovative new reagents, HDL-c direct FS and LDL-c direct FS. Both are homogenous assays for direct determination. The high quality reagents manufactured in Germany offer long calibration and onboard stability of up to 4 months. Combined with wide measuring ranges and good precision at clinical cut-off points, DiaSys assays HDL-c direct FS and LDL-c direct FS are of high value for clinical-chemistry laboratories.

News & Innovations

Innovation prize for DiaSys and Fresenius University of Applied Sciences
The state Rhineland-Palatinate awards the 2021 Innovation Prize in the category “cooperation“ to DiaSys Diagnostic Systems GmbH along with Hochschule Fresenius, University of Applied Sciences, for developing a new procalcition test using PETIA technology.
The innovative reagent Procalcitonin FS, developed in cooperation with Hochschule Fresenius, is based on a further development of the PETIA technology. In contrast to conventionally complex determination methods in laboratory, no special equipment is needed for handling. The PETIA method may be applied to almost all available clinical chemistry analyzers worldwide. The test guarantees precise procalcitonin results while saving both cost and time and allows early diagnosis and immediate therapeutic measures. The excellent performance characteristics of Procalcitonin FS have been confirmed in renowned medical publications since its introduction; a patent has been filed for the innovative manufacturing process of Procalcitonin FS.

New reagent for direct determination of LDL-cholesterol
LDL-c direct FS, a new homogeneous assay for the direct determination of LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) is one of the latest products in the DiaSys portfolio. LDL-C is used as part of the lipid panel to estimate the risk of developing heart disease and to guide and monitor lipid-lowering therapies. Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease starts early in life, often during childhood without symptoms and signs. Studies revealed that 71% and 43% of middle-aged men and women, respectively, show evidence of subclinical atherosclerosis. Evidence from epidemiologic, genetic, and clinical intervention studies have clearly demonstrated that low-density lipoprotein is causal in this process.
LDL-c direct FS is characterized by a wide measuring range and shows good overall precision at clinical cut-off points. The ready-to-use reagent may be applied on all automated clinical chemical analyzers and shows good comparability with commercially available methods for the determination of LDL-cholesterol.

New reagent for determination of Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH)
LDH 21 FS, a new assay for determination of Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) was launched in 2021. Increased LDH activities are found in a variety of pathological conditions such as myocardial infarction, liver diseases, blood diseases, and cancer or muscle diseases. Increased serum LDH values are also one of the abnormal diagnostic parameters in COVID-19 patients with a severe or fatal course of disease.
For LDH, a standardized reference method by IFCC is available. The new LDH 21 FS uses a modified IFCC method that shows optimized performance. An improved calibration and onboard stability, as well as a wide measuring range, high precision at clinical cut-offs and minimized interferences by common blood components, characterize the reagent.
The new test may be applied on all automated clinical chemical analyzers and shows good comparability with commercially available methods for the determination of LDH.
